When did you first start writing?
My flair for storytelling began in the 2nd grade, doodling the comedic adventures of a character named Mr. Pig, whose whimsy and wonder underpin my style to this day!
What do you like to do for fun?
I like riding my bicycle to the beach, reading by the pool, traveling to new countries, visiting contemporary art museums, playing hide-and-go-seek with my nephews, going on adventures with my husband, trying different cultural foods, dreaming up new picture books, wandering bookstores and libraries, shaking the ice in my coffee cup like a musical instrument, writing poems that don’t follow the rules, reading young adult/classic lit, running loooooooooooong distances, dance-twirling in the kitchen, and watching Japanese anime.
